Changed Due Date after 22 week U/S, really confused and scaredFrom: Madeline (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 30 Apr 2003 13:32:10 -0500 (CDT)
October 30 was my last period. This was my first round of Clomid. Everything was meticulously charted. I am positive of the fact that conception occured during the week of November 10 mainly because this was the last time we had sex in November. On 11/22 I took a pregnancy test/positive. At 10 weeks I had an U/S and my doctor confirmed that "size equaled dates". My due date was set at August 6th. At 20 weeks I had a second ultrasound. This one showed my baby measuring small. They simply changed my due date to August 16, 10 days later. At 22 weeks I had another U/S and my baby was measuring small again and at this one they moved my due date even further back to August 19!!! This makes it 13 days past my original due date. I've spoken to my doctor about my concern that she is dicounting my worries that my baby is not growing properly and simply just changing my due date to accomodate my baby's small size. When I explained everything she told me that she couldn't go by when I said I had sex last and that she had to go by technology. So here lies my frustration and concerns. Would someone please help me shed some light into this. Am I worrying over nothing? Or does the issue that my baby is small need to really be addressed. I remember reading that later U/S's should not be used to date a pregnancy. Plus according to her new due date, conception would have occured 2 weeks after we had sex and my pregnancy test would have come out positive 2 days after conception, which all seems highly doubtful. Plus there is the first 10 week U/S which confirmed the original dates.
