20wks: was movement... now, nothing for 4 daysFrom: S.J. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Apr 2003 03:52:00 -0500 (CDT)
I am concerned because I've been having what I thought was fetal movement since week 18. But for the past several days I have felt nothing. Every time I thought I felt something, it turned out to be gas. I can't get over this overwhelming feeling that something is wrong. I had a massage around the time that the movement seemed to cease. The therapist did not want to use oil with lavender, so she used something else... but it had a very strong smell (like citronella) and I'm wondering if that could have caused harm to the baby. I have been trying to get it to move by pushing on my tummy... but nothing seems to work. Should I be worried? Is it normal at this early stage to feel something and then not feel anything? What are the chances that I've had a miscarriage. I had an U/S at 17wks and everything was normal (size good- due date confirmed, we saw it moving, etc...). I haven't taken any drugs or alcohol and have had only small amounts of caffeine (like one iced tea a week).
