contractions since Sunday morning

Most of you know that I am 36w3d and was on terbutaline for preterm labor until Saturday night. I began having contractions Sunday morning, about 25 minutes apart. By Monday they hadn't increased in intensity but were 15 minutes apart. They eased up last night enough for me to get a few hours of sleep but persisted at 15 minutes apart all day today. I was told not to go to labor and delivery until they were 5 minutes apart but for the past hour I have had persistant pain in my lower abdomen (like menstrual cramps) that hasn't let up. Between the cramping and the pressure in my vaginal area, I'm not sure whether to wait it out or call my doctor. At my check up last week I was dialated to 2 cm and 30% effaced. I understand that I could stay like that for days or even weeks but I really feel like this is it. But this is my first baby so I have no idea what to expect. Anybody have any idea what I should do?
