2 1/2 weeks Post Partum, IUD questionFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 6 Apr 2003 11:58:53 -0500 (CDT)
Hello! I just gave birth to a beautiful healthy girl on March 20th. We are done having kids but I am not considering sterilization. I am looking for IUD users who have only one fallopian tube. I lost one of mine at age 13 (age 25 now) due to a very large ovarian cyst. I guess I am wondering if its even possible to get an IUD with only one tube. See my problem is that I will only have medical coverage until the end of May and I need a for of birth control that I don't have to worry about remember taking or that I have to pay out of pocket for. I am on medicaid right now but like I said, its going to run out. My feelings are that if I cannot get the IUD at my 6 week checkup, then I am going to be stuck taking birth control pills. I have never taken them before but its about the only form of contraception I can get at a clinic that won't break the bank. Anyone have any thoughts on my situation? Thanks in Advance!
