Ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage, gestational sac visibleFrom: Tatiana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 5 Apr 2003 03:54:09 -0600 (CST)
I had a previous ectopic removed through laproscopy but the tube preserved (the ectopic was first misdiagnosed as miscarriage). A year later I became pregnant through the right tube (the same tube that was operated one). My hormones at 4 weeks, 3 days were HCG 179, Progesterone 82. At 5 weeks, 4 days the gestational sac was visible on the transvanginal ultrasound, diameter 4mm. At 6 weeks 3 days, the gestational sac only grew to diameter 4.7mm, no yolk sac was visible, HCG was 199, Progesterone fell to 33. Doctor said it will be a miscarriage as he were sure that the gestational sac was not pseudo. Could the doctor be mistaken, this gestational sac be a pseudo sac (as yolk sac was not visible) and I am having an ectopic pregnancy? or do the symptoms above clearly rule out the ectopic? Thank you.
