Mucous Plug QuestionFrom: Joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 3 Apr 2003 13:13:08 -0600 (CST)
I am 38 weeks along. I keep reading that losing your mucous plug is a sign that tru labor is near. Over the last week, a couple of times that I went to the bathroom, I noticed a mucous glob in the toliet. I would say it was about the size of a quarter. However, this has happened about 3 times. So, my question is, how do you know when it is the "plug"? How big/small is it suppose to be? Can you lose it by pieces at a time? Can you lose it more than once? I keep having many episodes of "false" labor and it is driving me crazy. So I am wondering if true labor is near, since I have recognized this discharge in my toliet. Thanks for your help.
