I am almost 8 weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy. For the last two weeks I've had brown spotting that sometimes is accompanied with dark brown membrane(?)when I wipe after going to the bathroom. It is almost identical to what I normally get at the beginning of my period. The doctor told me that since it's dark brown blood that it's old blood and that I shouldn't be worried. I am wondering what is the brownish membrane and is this cause for concern? The brownish discharge has been decreasing over the last two weeks, but the amount of membrane (?) seems to be consistent. Please help, I am really worried. My husband and I were trying for over a year to get pregnant and we are worried that this could be something called a molar pregnancy? Thanks.
