I read that 30 percent or more of women bleed in the first trimester (which you are just barely getting out of). I did, and now I am 24 weeks. Each time I bled, lots of water, complete bedrest for 7 days following the last day of bleeding. Some say that bed rest does nothing, but my doctor said that depends on the cause. In my case, I had the beginnings of a tearing placenta. Certainly he wanted that to heal over. An ultraound may or may not be able to determine the cause of your bleeding. However, dark blood is ALWAYS better than red blood, and no cramping is a wonderul sign. Try not to worry. I know I did, but it did the baby and me no good. steph b
