I am not a doctor but DON'T WORRY- you will know when you are in labor. You can't miss it. The chances of your not making it to the hospital before you deliver are very slim. Your mother may have a very high threshold for pain. My mother-in-law experienced the very same kind of labor. But I think this is the exception. And just because your mother had a very easy labor- it doesn't mean that you will. My mother's labors were less than 10 hours each time. My spanned over 24 hours and was nothing at all like my mom's.

If you are so concerned about not making it to the hospital, spend a little time reading on the internet about emergency childbirth and how to prepare for it. No doctor will be able to predict what kind of labor you will have- there are just so many variables. And if you find that you don't make it to the hospital, don't panic. You can give birth without drugs and you and your baby will be healthy if you follow a few precautions. At Mon, 31 Mar 2003, Suzanne wrote: >
