worried about induction

I am 40 wks 5 days pregnant. My due date was March 26th/03. I am going in for an in-patient induction on April 5th. My question is how long does it usually take to go into labour after being induced? For example will they stop the induction if there is failure to progress within 5,10 hrs???? My cervix is also high and the baby does not apear to be engaged. The estimated weight is 9 pounds 5 oz. I don't have a good feeling about the induction and think I will just end up with a cesarean. Time is running out though and I cannot refuse the induction as I will be 42 weeks as of April 10th anyways. Does anyone have advice, opininons?
