Low progesteroneFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netMon, 31 Mar 2003 11:21:46 -0600 (CST)
I am currently 10 weeks pregnant. I've had spotting every few days since 5 weeks and my breasts are no longer tender and haven't been since about 7 weeks. I went to my OB/GYN at 8 weeks and the heartbeat was detected and the doctor said it looked normal and healthy. He told me occasional bleeding is normal through the first trimester as long as it isn't extremely heavy. I'm a bit concerned however that this could indicate low levels of progesterone which he did not test for. What are the dangers of low progesterone? Should I seek a second opinion?
