Signs of PMS are very similar to signs of pregnancy. Many women don't experience symtpoms until 6 week pregnant (by LMP, so 4 weeks from conception) and some have very very few symptoms during their entire pregnancy. You could wait a full week if it makes you more comfortable but the doctor would want to see your regardless. Good luck! Not a doc. (Had the same thoughts just days ago, opted for making the appointment a week after period was due).
