Burning question since M/C nearly 3 months ago.... (for Docs or anyone)

>From the very first ultrasound at what was supposed to be about 7 weeks,
they found a fetus, yolk sac, but no heartbeat and no blood flow from myself to the baby. They showed me on the Thermo setting, there was absolutely no blood activity in that portion of my uterus.

What would have caused that?? Is it possible that the baby latched on to a blood clot?? (I have had periods with lots of clotting/large clots for years) Is it normal to not see blood flow like that at that early stage?? The ultrasound performed one week later showed the same thing. I have not been able to find a clear cut/defined answer and the doctors have been very shady about their answers as well. Anybody that might have a suggestion as to what it was or where I can look would be appreciated. Thank you.
