Large placenta, still birth, lungs, geneticsFrom: A (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 Mar 2003 01:40:18 -0600 (CST)
My friend's wife was 5 months pregnant. Couple of days ago, the wife noticed that she hadn't felt her baby move. So she decided to go to the doctor. The doctor said that the baby is dead due to the fact that the wife had a large placenta. At least that's how my friend's sister explained it to me; that is was due to the large placenta; it had to do with the lungs. I don't kow if I'm explaining it right or understanding it correctly. But can this really happen? Can somebody explain it to me? Also my friend's uncle said it might be genetics. I'm just puzzled. Can somebody explaine it clearly about large placenta, the possibility that it's genetics, and how lungs are affected by this? I don't know how else to describe the situation.
