Dear Sherri,

I would recommend that your coworker get a 2nd opinion from your local medical school obgyn. There may well be new research and insights that her regular MD may not be aware of. The herbal medicine suggested in other posts would be worth a try, but her gallstones may not pass as effortlessly as other poster's - we are all unique. Her concerns about anesthesia are legitimate, so I would also sit down with an anesthesiologist and discuss them. If he/she does not seem forthcoming or experienced, it's time to find another one.
