Irina,

I did my first IVF cycle in June 2001 which was not successful. I was scheduled for my next one in Sept 2001, but by August I just didn't feel ready emotionally to handle it. I called the doc and asked if we could hold off until October and he said sure - he'd rather we waited if I didn't feel ready (he usually schedules them 3 months apart). So we waited until October 2001 when I felt better able to handle it. Just that one month made a big difference in how I felt. So my IVFs were 4 months apart. For the record, the second one worked. Take time off if you need. Personally I felt that the time off did help me better able to handle it. And I unlike you had less time to work with since I was 38, but I just wasn't quite ready yet. GOOD LUCK!
