Jen,

As far as I'm concerned the epidural was not only a piece of cake after IVF, but just incredibly awesome in the relief I felt. I did 23.5 hours of labor with my second child (yeah, I know seconds are supposed to come faster, but I guess I wanted to be different) and I needed the relief. By the time I got it, I had labored long enough that I barely even felt the needle. And when the relief came, oh yeah, I was happy. Maybe if you're belly hurts bad enough, you can't feel the pain in the back!
