diabetes and pregnancyFrom: Agueda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Mar 2003 15:34:57 -0600 (CST)
I am trying to have a child but I have diabetes, I have been pregnant twice before. the first time I had to terminate the pegnancy due to complications caused by a high hemoglobin A1c count, the baby was not developing correctly. the second pregnancy was a mis carriage, my husband and I were devastated but we kept on trying. well we are pregnant again and we are at 6 weeks, we had an ultrasound (transvaginal) and the Dr. informed us that the baby was at a normal size but she found the ratio between the baby and the amniotic sack was not normal, she told us it was bigger than expected, does this mean anything? how will this affect the pregnancy and are there any complications that can be expected? will this be a normal baby? we are scheduled for another ultrasound in a week.if you can put our minds at ease with information thank you..
