Re: 1st Appointment @ 8 WeeksFrom: anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 11 Mar 2003 15:11:55 -0600 (CST)
When you have your first visit varies between doctors. If you are not high risk and the pregnancy was confirmed, your ob/gyn can choose to see you at anytime during your first trimester. I had my pregnancy confirmed through bloodwork at my family doctor and everything looked ok. Then I was sent for an u/s where we saw the babies heartbeat. So I didn't even see my ob/gyn until 13 weeks. As long as you're taking prenatal vitamins and aren't at high risk, waiting another two weeks shouldn't hurt. Not a doc, just my opinion. If you are really concerned, call your doc and ask.
