Having a 10 week ultrasound monday, have a quick question for the doc before thatFrom: Abb (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 8 Mar 2003 05:37:09 -0600 (CST)
Hi! I had an early u/s at 6 1/2 weeks and everything looked terrific, the doctor has ordered another one at that time for this monday at 10 weeks due to fertility injectibles used, i have some pretty huge cysts. Anyway, i had the 6 1/2 weeks u/s done transvaginally. This time they want to do it abdominally as they told me at the front desk at 10 weeks they can see things better abdominally. That means drinking 32 oz's of liquid. Normally that would be fine, but ive had round the clock nausea for weeks now (history of hyperemeisis twice before) and drinking that much at once seems impossible. Would drinking thruout the night before and just not going potty in the morning while drinking a little more as well in the morning be enough? Or does the liquid have to be drunk all at once? My appt is 8 am monday. I am quite skinny naturally at 5 8 and 123 pounds, would my being skinny allow me to get away with drinking less since they could possibly see easier? Please tell me i dont have to get up at 6 am and drink 32 oz! lol On a side note, ever get a doppler to pick up a HB at 8 1/2 weeks? I didnt think it was possible as with my family doctor he couldnt pick it up til 12 weeks each time before. Now i am with an OB and she was able to. Not only that but i have to say there sure is a different level of care with an OB, im glad i changed to one. You all are an amazing group of people. SIncerely, Ann
