You should ask your Stepmother about meditation, or of having a Dula (sp?) to assist you in your birthing process. The more scared you are, the worse the pain is going to be. If you can, try going beyond your Parents' generation to your Grandmother, or other older adult you can trust. Women used to have babies all the time without the help of pain medication. It is not something you need to be scared about, but rather to embrace as part of becoming a woman. Stress (and I'm not trying to scare you) is not what you need right now, for you or the baby. Also, maybe check out babymed.com too. This mainly is a support forum for women to go to to vent about things, to ask questions/concerns about their pregnancies, and to just recieve the support a lot of us need at different stages in our life/pregnancy. I'm sure your Stepmother can help you find it. Good Luck!
