Using the "rhythm method" appropriately, you would certainly not have unprotected sex on Day 8 on a 28-day cycle. Like I said, FOLLOWED TO A T, it is very very effective. You obviously were not following the Fertility Awareness Method of pregnancy prevention or you would not have had unprotected sex on day 8. Day 8 is only 4 days from your first possible ovulation day (day 12). Sperm lives 5 days. So it's not surprising you got pregnant. Nor does it mean you ovulated during your period. So I fail to see where you and I "differ" ... Congrats on your pregnancy.
