Question about coughing after a c-sectionFrom: Dee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 2 Mar 2003 11:15:36 -0600 (CST)
Two years ago, I had a baby by c-section. Two weeks post partum, I began coughing and coughing. I have mild asthma and GERD, but all tests/x-rays came back normal. After six weeks of coughing, it finally stopped. Fast forward to the present. I had a second c-section almost 2 weeks ago. After one week, I began coughing again, just like the first time. It is mostly a dry cough, but sometimes I do cough up clear mucus. It is irritating to say the least. Could it be from the anesthesia? I had a spinal. My OB is not concerned and said to take Robitussin DM; however, to me, it is just too coincedental to not be related to the c-section. I don't feel bad and don't have a URI or anything. Any ideas? (I have been off of Prilosec since finding out I was pregnant, so I wondered if taking it again might help?!?!?!!?)
