I'm not a Doc, but after my D&C in December, I joined an online support group, and many of the women there, mine included, said that physically, you really don't have to wait at all if you don't want to. Ultrasound Technology can determine the age of the fetus if there is no LMP to go by. MENTALLY though, is why Docs generally reccomend a longer period of time. So that you can go through the greiving process and begin to heal emotionally/mentally. I am still having a hard time, but working through it.
