Does follicle size at ovulation correlate to a healthy egg released? From: Jay (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 Feb 2003 13:20:42 -0600 (CST)
Hello I am 37 (DH is 35)...TTC #1...(FSH level normal but on the higher end...CD3 range from 8-10.3) My HSG was good and husband's SA was great. I have had 2 chemical pregnancies in the last 3 cycles...the 1st one was a natural cycle...last one was a 50mg of clomid cycle. (My betas on DPO14 were arounf 30...2 days later...in the 40's) This is my 3rd clomid cycle...I was monitored by ultrasound this cycle (not the others)... CD12 - dominant follicle was 14mm CD14 - dominant follicle was 21.4mm - lining was at 6.6mm...triple layer was evident CD16...Ovulation day (confirmed by OPK and temp rise next day) My Question...is there a correlation between very good dominant follicle development before release of egg and the health of the egg? (Of course, I am wondering this because chromosomal issues with the egg seem to be a cause of these chemical pregnancies) Thanks!
