Question about vicodin during 3rd trimesterFrom: Kellie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 26 Feb 2003 07:15:39 -0600 (CST)
My doctor put me on vicodin ES 7.5-750 TAB for interstitial cystitis during the beginning of my pregnancy, since I have had a horrible time with flares and pain during this. I'm not on any other medication for the interstitial cystitis while I'm pregnant. I've been very careful to only take this when I'm in serious pain and have never taken more than two halves a day through the pregnancy (which would equal one pill). I want to make sure that there's no problem with the baby having withdrawl after she's born. Right now I'm 31 wks pregnant. There are days I do need to take a half of one now but I try very hard not to take more than that and am really glad for the days I don't have to take any at all. Is this level of use a danger to the baby being addicted to it? Half of one vicodin 7.5 -750 a day maybe four days a week? Any advice from a professional or someone who's used this medication would be appreciated! Thank you
-- Kellie
