In canada, the triple screen is done at 15-17 weeks, and amnio can be done afterwards, if the triple screen warrants it. It's the same thing here with the 24 weeks. Maybe check into the timimg of the tests again- it sounds like they may be backwards. You could also just get the amnio done, BUT it has a risk for miscarriage whereas triple screen doesn't.
