HELP Doctor!! Could not eat for several hours - worriedFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 Feb 2003 07:40:34 -0600 (CST)
Due to a family emergency yesterday my wife was unable to eat at her regular time which is about 5:30 PM (dinner). She was able to obtain two snacks at about 9PM (some fruit chews and one of those six-pack peanut butter and crackers snacks). She was not able to eat a real meal until about 10:30. She said that she was feeling a little bit dizzy before she obtained the snacks at 9PM. Before that, the last snack she had was at 3PM which was some peanut butter crackers. She is VERY concerned that her going without food for so long, and the fact that she was extremely hungry during that period (from 5:30 - 10:30 PM) has damaged the baby. She is in her 8th week. To compound her concern she has not had any breast tenderness for the last two days, and she is not nearly as bloated today as she has been for the last few weeks. This started the day after she had an ultrasound 'probe' to see the baby's heart beat (couldn't hear it with the microphone because of her tipped uterus). The combination of her loss of symptoms and the aforementioned problem has her extremely concerned. Any information/reassurance would be much appreciated! Thanks!
