How long does erythromycin stay in your system? The last 2 of my 4 births were premature due to preterm premature rupture of membranes(PPROM). My first week on the antibiotic, I only had minor GI discomfort. I was off for 1 week. The second time I went on it, I broke out in hives, hands and feet swelled up, and my throat felt like it was closing up, and my mouth seemed to be overly dry. It was concluded that I am allergic. I was treated and put on a new antibiotic. I am having a reaction to that one as well and have stopped taking it. The dr prescribed medrol dosepak to help me with the severe reaction. I am wanting to know - how long will these antibiotics stay in my system. I am dong fine during the day, but am having the allergic reactions still in evenings. I have been off meds for 2 full days now. So I am wondering if it is a reaction to something else.
