Hi Michelle:

Ask your ob-gyn for a quantitative HCG blood test - which will give you an exact HCG level. I would think though, if you were due to start your period 2 1/2 weeks ago, that your HCG level should definitely be high enough at this point to register positive on a home pregnancy test. The range for HPTs is 50-100 I think, and even if your HCG level started low, it still should double ever 2-3 days in a viable pregnancy. I would contact your ob-gyn though, and see if he/she will order a blood test for you. Best wishes! Sarah
