I am being treated for arthritis, and I had just finished a course of methotrexate shortly before I became pregnant. Specifically, I had a four-week course of 15mg per week, followed by two weeks off, then another three-week course of 15mg per week after that. My last dosage was on Jan 4. (the first day of my LMP), and I conceived on or about Jan. 17. I have had extremely light spotting in the past week, but no other symptoms that would lead me to believe anything unusual is going on. What are the risks to my baby for birth defects? I really need to know what my chances are for having a healthy baby. Both my GYN and my rheumatologist are being very non-committal and I am looking to get a straight answer please. Thank you for any information you can provide. --Alice
