Fear of 'missed miscarriage' -- am I being irrational?From: Rebecca (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 8 Feb 2003 15:43:20 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I am 36 years old and my husband and I conceived after over a year through IUI/injectible medications. I am now, by LMP, 10wks2days. I have seen the heartbeat twice, once at 6wks and again at 8wks. For some reason, I am desperately worried that I will have a "missed miscarriage" and I'm curious what the miscarriage statistics are after seeing a heartbeat and normal growth (19mm at the time)? I guess I'm mostly worried because I have not yet "felt pregnant." I have had virtually no m/s and in terms of other symptoms, the only thing I've had are somewhat sore and larger breasts and fatique (but not overwhelming). At other times in the day, I can feel pretty much as though I'm not pregnant at all. Can you reassure me? Also, I have two ovarian cysts that are continuing to grow; if I were to need surgery to remove them, would that make it impossible for me to have a vaginal delivery? Can you reassure me?
