Any comments on ability to conceive but having chemical pregnancies greatly appreciated??From: Jay (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 7 Feb 2003 10:10:04 -0600 (CST)
Hello [I will discuss this with my RE...but because she hasn't been doing any monitoring of my clomid cycles I would like to have your opinion as well!] I am 37 yrs old...TTC#1...this is our 11th month. (did chart temperatures) ...my FSH levels at CD3 were 8 - 9 - and 10.3 ...all other tests were normal ...Sperm Analysis was great ...HSG - tubes were clear I ovulate on my own every cycle... have 12-13 day luteal phases ...have very light periods. Not overweight...exercise... After 9 months of trying I tested positive on a HPT...had a chemical pregnancy (betas were very low...didn't reach 50 at 16dpo!...my period started a few days later.) I was given clomid...50mg to boost ovulation...on cycle 2 of clomid (last cycle) I had another chemical pregnancy (betas pretty much the same as the 1st one!) Here I am at clomid cycle 3...RE will be doing a midcycle ultrasound next Wednesday...cd12...to check lining and follicle development. So...it looks like I can conceive on my own...but can't manage to make it last!! ...what do you think could be causing these chemical pregnancies? And what, realistically, should be the next step?? Thanks!
