I can't really help you with your answers but I will share a similar situation. My doctor put me on terbutaline to prevent further contractions and it too is not approved by FDA for this use. It is actually a medication for asthma patients! But its use for preterm labor prevention isn't new. It's been used for well over 20 years, at least according to it's manufacturer's website. Even though it is supposed to be pretty safe, I am having trouble handling the side effects. Wait for a doc's reply and see what he says...I'm still waiting for an answer regarding my problem. >
