I have a friend who had uterine hemorrhaging on Wednesday night. Several fist-sized clots were removed from her uterus. At her doctor's appointment today, they did an u/s to try to find out what caused the hemmorhaging. The doctor saw what appeared to be a 6 week fetus, with the classic steady "blip" of a heartbeat. Both she and the doctor can not find reason to believe she is pregnant (due to a period since conception would have occurred, and then the hemmorhaging).

She is waiting on hCG results, but I wondered ~ what else could appear to look like a 6 week (from LMP) fetus with a heartbeat on an u/s?
