Can HCG shot help avoid a miscarriage? Please reply.

I have had three miscarriages, all before 5 weeks gestation. My reproductive endocrinologists believes that my progesterone level is too low. She has prescribed 200mg prometrium twice a day. Should I ask her to consider giving me a HCG shot also. I recently read that a HCG shot during the pregnacy could assist the developing fetus in stimulating my natural progesterone levels. Please advise. Thanks.
