5.5 weeks is very often too early to see a heartbeat. Sometimes you can see it that early but it would not be unusual to not see it yet. Doctors can typically see a heartbeat between 6 and 7 weeks. It very well might be OK! Don't lose hope yet. also, my understanding was that "blighted ovum" also means NO fetal pole- if you have a fetal pole, that is a good sign maybe? I know it is SO hard to wait. Hang in there.
