No heartbeat, 5.5 weeks

After trying for eight years, we were finally successful this summer and learned that we were expecting. 12 weeks later our dream died as it was discovered that I had a blighted ovum. Now through AI we are pregnant again. I am currently 5.5 weeks. Last night the specialist did a sonogram to assure us that the pregnancy was in the uterus and that it was viable. After much searching he found a fetal pole, but no heartbeat. Is it too soon? To my saddened eyes the sonogram looked all too similar to that of the blighted ovum. The stress of waiting another week is unbearable. I would like to prepare myself if it is not looking good. Any advice would help ease our minds. Thank you.
