Proscar and risks of birth defectsFrom: Edye (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Jan 2003 19:57:21 -0600 (CST)
My husband was prescribed Proscar for his BPH. I have read that pregnant women should not handle the pills. We are trying to conceive, and I have gotten conflicting information off the web about the risks. Are there any increased risks of miscarriage and/or birth defects as a result of my husband taking this drug? (We've already suffered 2 miscarriages due to Factor V Leiden.) I've read that traces of Proscar will be in his semen, and that this may cause genital abnormalities in a male fetus. Is this true of false? Please help...
