The condition is known as "Single Umbilical Artery" (SUA) Ther should be two of them.

When this is present, there is an increased risk(around 10%) that the baby may have some other abnormalities. The risk is greater if it is either the right or left that is absent. I can't remember which off the top of my head. This is usually considered an indication for an Extensive Ultrasound.
