I think infection is the exception, not the rule. The fact that 4 brothers all got infections bad enough to need circumcision I think is bizarre. Only reason I'm saying this is that my hubby is from England, where they do not circumcize. He never even heard of infection down there until I asked him about it. Of course you have to be taught at a young age how to wash the area. My obgyn had told me that years ago they thought men that were uncircumcised had more risk of infection and penile cancer. He told me that within the past few years, these claims have been found to be unsubstantiated, and that is why more parents are opting not to circumcise anymore. In other words, there is no medical benefit to it. I'd love to hear from another doctor on this....
