Dr.'s please advise - recurrent miscarriagesFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 28 Jan 2003 09:05:06 -0600 (CST)
I am 30 years old. I have three healthy children ages 6,5 and 2. I have had uncomplicated pregnancies. Only pre-term labor w/second child at 33 weeks that was stopped w/mag. sulfate. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in October - heartrate was detected at 6 wks only 70 bpm. Stopped beating a few days later. D&C on Nov.1 - pregnant again in December - again heartrate detected at 6 wks only 68 bpm. Miscarried Monday - passed tissue w/o D&C. I am devastated and confused. Dr. wants to do karyotyping on tissue this time and some tests on me. What should she test for? We conceived with little difficulty for first three and it took us a year to get pregnant with the first one we just miscarried. My cycles were strange during that year w/ brown spotting around the time I should have been ovulating. And sometimes brown spotting for a few days before the actual bleeding began. Should my Dr. Have tested me when I told her about that a year ago? I just don't want to go through this again.
