Re: Is it normal to feel really nervous in early pregnancy? From: sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 Jan 2003 19:03:23 -0600 (CST)
I am curently 13 weeks pregnant with my second baby, and I have felt exactly the same as you both times. The first time I convinced myself I had a missed abortion when my sickness sypmtoms started to disappear at about 10 weeks. I used to feel frantic. This time, I worry with every pang of pain I feel. In fact, I wake up most mornings feeling anxious with a butterfly feeling in my stomach. The good news is that from what I remember last time, your hormones begin to settle a bit after the first trimester, and then pregnancy seems to bring these feelings of calmness, and you feel more relaxed than usual. All of my friends have said the same. I think it must be natures way of stopping you from worrying about all these enormous changes that are taking place in your body!
So hang in there! In the meantime, try drinking chamomile tea before you
got to bed, it helps to relax you. And I find that my herbal rescue
remedy works a treat too. Good luck!
