Doctors response please if possibleFrom: Chloe (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 Jan 2003 08:11:10 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I have PCOS and IBS (as well as being on Cipramil for depression I am also on Metformin 500mg od for PCOS). It has been 7 weeks since my last period and I have normal PMS symptoms but much, much worse. My nipples and breasts are so sore that I am actually close to tears and I have a white discharge. I have been crying pretty much every day for the last 6 and am more irritable than normal! My IBS is very exacerbated and I am having to go to the toilet on average 3 times a day, OR I am very constipated. I am extremely bloated too. This morning I did an NHS pregnancy test (not sure how great they are) and it was negative. Do you think I could be pregnancy considering the much exaggerated PMS type symptoms (the nipple pain is affected greatly by the cold and very similar to a pregnancy I had when I was 18) and would the IBS be exacerbated by this or am I just staving off the period by worrying? Your thoughts would be much appreciated as I am starting to feel rather overwhelmed.
