20-week loss - long sorryFrom: jamie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 19 Jan 2003 12:00:51 -0600 (CST)
I am 34, husband 41. No children together, 4 live births, youngest 11 years ago, m/c at 8 weeks May 2002; recent loss at 18-20 week. Husband also has two children. ultra sound showed everything normal at 17.6, routine ultrasound at 22 week showed no fetal heart beat. Induced two days later, baby seemed to have abnormalities, although everything looked normal and great at the last ultrasound. AFP testing came back good. Could they be from being deceased for so long? Looked as if it only had two fingers on one hand and a clubbed hand on the other; facial deformaties also; very long and skinny. I'm desparate for answers. I'm thinking incarcerated uterus. 15.4 ultrasound still showed uterus to be really tipped back, nothing was said at 17.6 ultrasound. two urinary tract infections during preganncy; never confirmed by urine test, I just called the doctor and they prescribed macrobid, bad back pain. The baby never seemed to move above my hairline, always seemed like a ball in that area, never moving up. They will have test results hopefully in a week or two, but i'm desparately searching for answers now. I can't imagine what else went wrong. thank you
