Not a doctor but I know from personal experience that in the case of fetal demise, the hcg does not necessarily go down. Three days post-miscarriage my hcg was 13,000, then it went down to 3,000 one week later, then back up to 6,000 a week after that, then 9,000 two days later after a new test to check for lab error. The presence of pregnancy tissue in your uterus will cause the hcg levels to continue to rise. Again I reiterate that I am not a doctor but after having 4 miscarriages I feel I can safely say that a rise of 1 point in three days does not sound promising. There is always a chance of lab error, though, so sit tight and try not to think too much about it until you get your next results, it will only make you crazy.
