wierd situation freaking me out

My LMP was dec 7th avergae cycle 30-31 days.

I had cm and unprotected intercourse only cd 19 onwards when i was not expecting ovulation.

Two home pregnancy tests were faint poistive a day after expected menstural period. I had a blood test at doc's my hcg level was 8 and prog:21 so they put me on prometrium(100*3) to get the progestrone above 25.

A repeat HCG today (3 days after the first hcg test) was 9!!!!

If the fetus is dead HCG should be going down ,if it is not viable it should be increasing a little not doucbling but atleast monor increase what does a hcg rise of 1 point imply???? does it sound like chemical pregnancy or something more wierd? i have no spotting and mild cramping..please tell me whats happening i go for a repeat hcg in two days..
