infection during pregnancyFrom: Rose (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 9 Jan 2003 09:56:37 -0600 (CST)
I had bacterial Vaginosis a few months before I got pregnant. The doctor who diagnosed me with that initially told me that I was fine, but when the pap smear came back it showed I had an infection. Since I have become pregnant (11 weeks), I have been seeing a different doctor (insurance purposes). I went to the doctor, explained my situation, and she just gave me a pelvic exam (no pap smear). She stated that everything seemed fine and that I had nothing to worry about. She also stated that many people have strep in that area and it's normal. Now I feel that I have an infection again due to a specific type of pain similiar to last time before I was pregnant. I dread trying to convince the doctor to give me a pap smear, but I am also worried that I have the same infection. I have a feeling the doctor will just blow it off and say that everything is fine.
