My sister and brother in law have a child with CF and therefore I have learned a lot about it how it is inherited. You didn't mention if you are also a CF carrier. It takes BOTH parents being carriers for a CF child to be produced. Just because your husband is a carrier doesn't mean that you will have a CF child. In fact, if you are not a carrier, there is absolutely no way you could have a CF child. If you are not a carrier and he is, the worst that could happen is that you have a 50% chance the child would be a carrier and 50% chance the child would be a non-carrier. However, if you are also a carrier then you have a 25% chance the child will have CF, a 50% chance the child will be a carrier and a 25% the child will be a non-carrier. You may still need to use donor sperm IUI because of your husband's other issues, but I wanted to make sure you understood about the CF issue. You can get more information on how it is inherited at the website for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at http://www.cff.org
