My wife has PCOS. She ovulated on Clomid but did not conceive. Our doctor now wants to do a D&C. Where we live (India), it is very common to do this to women with fertility problems, as it is believed it cleans everything out and gives her a fresh start. Please note that there is NOT a miscarriage involved in this case, and everything else checks out fine except for the PCOS and lack of ovulation. My wife has never conceived; this is just a standard procedure that is often recommended. My question: will this help any? If so, how? I've not found anything on the internet that suggests it would, but I have found writings by doctors saying that it is just an old wives' tale and should not be done routinely in such cases as it may cause scarring. We are now trying to figure out what to do. A response from a doctor in the West would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
